WMS
A custom warehouse management system with a PC admin and PDA jobs. Inbound, locations, picking and counts — not a spreadsheet total labeled "WMS".
The warehouse knew on-hand totals. It did not know which bin held which lot. Receiving and cycle counts never closed against a location, so pickers still walked by memory.
PC operations console plus PDA for inbound, putaway, location stock, picking and counts. Warehouse execution, not an inventory report.
We modeled the warehouse as locations and jobs. Receiving creates putaway work. Picks are tasks against a ship order. Counts write back to the same stock ledger. The PDA is a worker UI, not a website squeezed onto a scan gun.
If pickers still hunt by memory, send a floor walkthrough. Warehouse work belongs under WMS at /en/wms/, not a generic back office.
